About John Copeland
I currently serve as a Cadet Corps Leadership Instructor at St John’s College High School in Washington DC, where I help develop our country’s future leaders. In May 2024, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Military College of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Arts in Military Intelligence and a Minor in Education (3.80 Cumulative GPA). I last served as the Regimental Supply Officer for the entire 2200+ Corps of Cadets, leading a team of 53 and managing the operation of campus auxiliaries totaling in spend. I held multiple leadership positions within the South Carolina Corps of Cadets and was a Squad Leader for incoming freshmen at The Citadel Success Institute in the summers of 2021 and 2022. I take pride in my attention to detail. On Matriculation Day in August of 2023, I was in charge of all supplies for the 700+ incoming freshmen for a total of 112,500 items distributed over 8 hours. Background includes intensive education in the history and function of intelligence as practiced by the United States government and a summer semester studying Cybersecurity Risk Management at University College London. Intelligence writing sample includes a capstone National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on The Wagner Group and Its Operation in Ukraine. Dual US/UK citizen. Named to both the President\'s List and Commandant\'s Distinguished Service List in January of 2023 for outstanding military and academic achievement.

I teach four academic leadership courses to 70 high school students within the Cadet Corps Leadership Program- Units include Cadet NCO Roles & Responsibilities, Cohesion, Stages of Team Development, The Planning Process, and Habits- Serve as a mentor and role model for approximately 340 cadets, promoting a culture of character development, accountability, and personal growth- Coach for the Rifle, Football, and Trap & Skeet teams, and moderator for the Color Guard.Reactivated the SJC Rifle Team after a four-year hiatus and successfully entered the team into the Potomac High School League- Support planning and execution of experiential learning opportunities, including community service projects, field trips, Color Guard events, and cadet-led team activities- Coordinated field trip experiences such as Gettysburg National Military Park, the United States Military Academy at West Point, and Joint Base Andrews- Assist in executing all aspects of the CCLP, including curriculum development, wellness activities, classroom instruction, ceremonies, drill & ceremony, logistics, and administrative functions.
