About John Cooper

As the founder and CEO of Cooper Tacia General Contracting, my goal is to continue to grow our company and make positive contributions to the communities we serve. We now have regional offices in Raleigh and Atlanta, and we are licensed to work in 11 states. We are projecting revenues of $150 million this fiscal year.Founded in 2003, the company originally focused on home building. We\'ve come a long way since then. When the great recession hit in 2008, we pivoted to hospitality work, creating some of Raleigh\'s most iconic restaurants. We then graduated to industrial work, which now represents about 50 percent of our portfolio. And we\'ve expanded into other areas, including government buildings, offices, community centers, schools, airports, and water and wastewater treatment plants.Giving back is important to me, which is one reason we founded the Cooper Charitable Foundation in January 2024. We provide housing stability grants to help working people get into stable housing or prevent them from losing their housing. In our first year, we assisted almost 200 people, demonstrating the need.At Cooper Tacia, we also care about our employees and their needs. We have created a culture of opportunity - the opportunity to grow, to have a voice at the table, to be appreciated. We are nothing without the dedication and hard work of our team.
