1. Director - Product Engineering

   Vitamix

   Sep 2024 — Present

   At Vitamix, I lead Product Engineering as Director, overseeing New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, Mechanical Platforms, Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, and the Model Shop. I manage a matrixed team of 20, including four direct reports, and partner closely with Product Management and Supply Chain to drive innovation, portfolio simplification, and platform strategy. In this role, I am responsible for both OPEX and CAPEX budgets supporting technical activities, ensuring disciplined execution, engineering rigor, and scalable impact across the enterprise.Since stepping into this role, I’ve successfully built a pipeline that reduces the portfolio complexity by half while preserving flexibility in design and features, and one that will deliver more than $10M in cost savings through DFMA, component scaling, and platform re-architecture. I’ve aligned technical platforms with product roadmaps to ensure clear customer requirement traceability and proactively mitigated enterprise risk by ensuring Supply Chain capabilities are tightly integrated with platform strategies.I’ve strengthened our quality and validation practices by reinforcing DFSS, DFR and DRBFM frameworks. By instilling structured engineering processes and front-loaded rigor, I’ve accelerated launch cycles, tripled development projects, and doubled launches. Additionally, I’ve built a strong technical bench through competency roadmaps, revitalized our intern and co-op programs, and gained C-suite approval for a platform strategy that enables scalable replacement of legacy products.
