As the world pushes towards a low / near-zero carbon future, traditional power sources are faced with the decision to innovate or become obsolete. Natural gas generation has done a great job displacing more carbon-intensive coal-fired generation, and it will continue to do so in the coming years. However, a new phase of gas generation has already begun, with increased attention of alternative fuels and carbon capture, Working on decarbonization at GE Gas Power means defining and executing our strategy to help our customers achieve their carbon intensity reduction targets. We bring together both mature technologies, ranging from low/no-carbon fuels (hydrogen) to carbon-capture (CCUS) capability, and are actively looking at non-traditional combustion technologies to lower carbon intensities.
