1. Senior Technical Program Manager

   Amazon Web Services (AWS)

   May 2018 — Present · Seattle, WA, US

   Initially managed construction and scaling of AWS data centers in PDX availability zone. Subsequently took over full portfolio of capacity scaling initiatives for Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay area. Total portfolio included several hyperscale data centers representing cumulative capital investments valued in the billions of USD. In addition to core duties, initiated, sponsored or led several high-impact ad hoc initiatives, including the following- Increased usable capacity of legacy data centers 17 percent by reimagining their use and championing retrofit projects to better align with evolved business needs and technical opportunities- Executed site-exits, migrations and consolidations to align with growth strategy and better optimize cost structure- Deployed failure analysis labs within existing datacenters in North America and Europe, thus enabling a 55 percent reduction in RMAs for testable components and thereby averting hundreds of millions of dollars in annual operational expense- Led engineering assessment to optimize deployment of nearline storage in legacy data centers, resulting in a previously unrecognized NPV benefit of 46 million USD- Interviewed, coached and onboarded new team members. Mentored new program managers for Alexa and the Project Kuiper satellite broadband initiative.
