ABOUT JOHN BOSWELL

I have worked within the UK Fire & Rescue Service since 1988 performing to a consistently high level, generating a positive attitude and striving for excellence in all of my roles, which is evidenced by all of my line managers. I would promote myself as a good communicator and have developed my communication skills during my career, I have respect for whatever group or individuals I am involved with. I believe that I am a good listener which is also a good skill to have. I believe I have good leadership skills and decision making qualities based on consistency, openness, honesty; and life experience\'s to be a role model, setting and maintaining high standards. I have a focused approach to problem solving, challenging views and reflecting on performance of myself, team and others. The observations and feedback help me to ensure I can improve next time. Using the past events or actions to enhance future practices. A building block for successful outcomes is to be a proficient organiser, including being able to prioritise and delegate, combined with the ability to re-assess and adapt to situations. I fully embrace the dynamic qualities which enable the development and evaluation of an organisation, others and myself, to achieve excellence.
