ABOUT JOHN BERRY

I am a litigation partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson, and advise clients dealing with government investigations and litigation, internal investigations and other corporate or securities-related issues. In addition to my white collar practice, I advise clients in private commercial and securities litigation. Before joining Munger Tolles & Olson, I was Associate Regional Director for the SEC’s Enforcement Division in its Los Angeles regional office, where I oversaw the office’s enforcement investigations and litigation. And before taking on that role, I was the office\'s Regional Trial Counsel, supervising all of the office\'s litigated SEC enforcement cases. While at the SEC, I personally handled several significant SEC enforcement matters, including first-chairing a large insider trading jury trial to verdict. Before joining the SEC, I was a litigation partner in New York at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where my practice focused on commercial, real estate and bankruptcy litigation. During my career at the SEC and in private practice, I have litigated 26 cases to summary judgment and argued more than 40 dispositive motions and appeals in federal and state trial and appellate courts. I am also a frequent speaker on securities enforcement and litigation topics.
