About John Bastian

I am passionate about helping students be successful-whether that is in school, their careers, or in their lives. I coach them, support them, and guide them so they can grow and move closer to achieving their goals. For many years I have been supporting, guiding, and coaching students at the college level, helping them to develop new skills and achieve their goals. My passion during my years in education has been to help students grow personally and succeed academically, in their careers, and in life. As I collaborate with students, colleagues, employers, and community partners, we create positive opportunities for students-both in and out of the classroom. While challenges abound in these efforts, opportunities for academic and career success and growth also are many.While a positive and respectful attitude, a friendly disposition, hard work, and persistence go a long way towards success, we (students, myself, and my colleagues) also need the proper knowledge and skills to help students succeed. Fortunately, I have a strong interest, much knowledge, and great deal of skills in the college-success and career-preparation processes. In summary, supporting, guiding, and coaching college students towards their goals are my practices and continuing goals. I nudge and challenge students to embrace possibilities, whether they are classroom learnings, career opportunities, or life decisions. Outside of my family (wife, three children) and close relationships (and occasionally baseball), helping others grow and succeed are my life passions.
