About John Barritt

Creative thinker, beyond out of the box. I\'m not afraid of a challenge or the unknown, just another problem to solve. I thrive in an environment where discovery is king and taking chances to push the envelope are encouraged. The future is waiting for us to create it.•I have worked with a wide array of clients from across the medical device industry with custom catheters. I have designed and developed deflectable transcatheter delivery systems, balloon systems, motor activated systems, aspiration systems, scopes and biopsies, surgical instruments, integrated multilumen designs, extrusions, fixtures and tooling, an array of components, and final device assembly. •Devices I have worked on have accessed a wide range of destinations in human, including, peripheral upper and lower extremity, carotid, aortic and mitral valve, neurological pathways, and gastrointestinal tract. •I have experience in ISO 13485, class 8 clean room environments, LEAN manufacturing, GPD (SOP, MPI, LHR, CS, PS, NCMR, CAPA, FMEA)•I focus on design for manufacturing, while optimizing raw material cost and assembly time. •I have extensive SolidWorks experience with complex models and assemblies, since 2011. •I have managed junior engineers and assemblers, been responsible for training personal, and communication with clients and suppliers. •I am a driven graduate from the UC Santa Cruz Jack Baskin School of Engineering.•I work well in teams and independently to meet deadlines and communicate ideas. •While earning my B.S. in Bioengineering and Minor in Electrical Engineering I developed a passion for medical devices, stemming from an interest in neuroprosthetics and other bioelectronic devices. I have led and participated in several research and design projects. •I have 4 years of prior experience working in the biotechnology production industry. •Through my degree and work experience I have gained a variety of technical and professional skills, as well as an ability to learn and understand new material quickly and meet important deadlines. I believe I would be an asset to any employer and an integral addition to the team.
