ABOUT JOHN BARNES

Having held a number of IT leadership, coaching, and relationship management roles over the past 20 years, I have built a sound reputation and considerable expertise in developing individuals. Talented people are the building blocks of great teams, so guiding and enabling them to be the best they can be has been a key factor in my success so far. In my most recent roles I have been required to motivate and direct, multi-disciplined teams to achieve my project service goals. Utilising onshore, offshore and nearshore teams, I have directed the service management process to drive down incidents, solidify problems and changes. To on-board new cloud infrastructure, software products, application enhancements, alongside other service improvement goals. When managing transitions of service I have facilitated delivery to the end users, all the time maintaining focus on critical success factors and key milestones which ensured the successful delivery of my customer\'s vision, on time and on budget. Building a rapport with my clients and colleagues is one of my greatest strengths. It enables me to knit people as a team, to really listen to their needs and draw out the requirements, that in turn, will help us both achieve our business goals. I am not afraid to confront difficult situations with the client and consultant teams, finding a consensus, and adopting the best solution for an agreed success.
