About Johanson Onyegbula

I am a Remote Sensing researcher with a Bachelor\'s in Surveying and Geoinformatics. Meanwhile, my master\'s degree focused on integrating remote sensing, geospatial analysis and genetic algorithms for improving tree crown mapping, as part of a larger project for managing wildfires.My core competencies include: geoprocessing, spatial analysis and data science with Python, R and MATLAB; responsive and accessible front-end web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript; backend development with Java (and it\'s frameworks like Spring, JavaEE), SQL and noSQL databases; and PHP. I\'m also proficient in mapping and geoprocessing using tools like ArcGIS and ENVI.Meanwhile, my professional experiences (as an agile software developer) are mostly in the backend using Java and SQL/MongoDB, where I iteratively develop and improve services. My undergraduate internship involved metocean data analysis, mapping and hazard analysis of offshore facilities, quality control of Geodetic data, EIA planning and preparation of weather briefs.I\'m open to career opportunities involving the use or any combination of software engineering, data science/machine learning, geospatial analysis and remote sensing.
