Collect and analyze information in order to establish if claimants have a valid claim according to federal regulations. Review information and makes decisions on eligibility and entitlements for continuation of pay according to federal rules and regulations.Review information submitted and approves or deny request for surgery and changes in treating physicians.Prepares Memoranda to the director, Compensation Orders and Schedule Awards.Develop summary letters to summaries claimants information submitted in there case. Collect detailed statements from witnesses to determine if injuries actually occurred.Reviews and approves requests for attorney fees, submitted by attorney representing claimant before the office.Monitor cases where liability for the injury falls upon a party other than the United States.Reviews cases for possible overpayment. Make recommendations and some development for higher adjudication. Respond to written and telephonic inquires from program participants, Congressional personnel, and National Office staff.Determines documentation needed to perfect a claim in accordance with current legislation, regulation and policies. Advises involved parties of medical and non-medical evidence required for case adjudication, and assists in the acquisition.Run reports to check the progress of each case assigned.
