About Joey Cirone
I live and breathe anything and everything related to audio and music by building and scaling platforms that power premium in‑vehicle audio, owning the amplifier and software roadmaps, portfolio governance, and partner integrations with Tier‑1s and SoC vendors. My focus is aligning HW, SW, and acoustic structures to deliver differentiated experiences to OEM customers. My first platform product management mandate at Bose Automotive was to define the future amplifier strategy: establish reusable platform guardrails, a luxury amplifier track, and decision criteria that cut fragmentation across OEMs while preserving the Bose signature sound. From that foundation, I expanded the charter from amplifier hardware to software, leading a common SW architecture that spans Bose amplifiers, third‑party hardware, and SoC up‑integration. I define interfaces and reference designs, coordinate feature rollouts and bundles, and ensure integrations are validated before OEM pursuit cycles, so our sell‑in is crisp and credible. My path to PM started in the lab and in vehicles. I began as an Acoustic Design Intern in, learning the fundamentals of acoustic measurement, design, and modeling while contributing to early S1 Pro prototypes. I earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University plus minors in Engineering Management and Music Engineering, culminating in a capstone that re‑imagined immersive listening and won “most likely to become a product.”For 6+ years I was an Acoustic Systems Engineer in Bose Automotive, designing next‑gen premium car audio and safeguarding the Bose signature sound across the full signal chain, from head unit to amplifier, speakers, and finally the listener’s ears. Highlights include production tunings and signoffs with Hyundai/Kia, Honda, and Nissan, concept‑car demos, and integrating advanced audio tech like Dolby Atmos. I was fortunate to help deliver landmark programs such as the MY21 Hyundai Sonata, Kia Seltos, and the first Honda Pilot vehicle with Bose audio. In 2020, alongside full‑time engineering work, I completed a Master’s in Engineering Management at the Tufts Gordon Institute, sharpening product strategy, data‑driven decision‑making, and cross‑functional leadership. That education, paired with hands‑on systems expertise, enabled my transition from individual contributor to Platform Product Manager. What I do best: Platform roadmaps • HW/SW ecosystem architecture • OEM/Tier‑1 partnerships • Reference designs & feature bundling • Portfolio Management• Decision Making • Customer Voice
