About Joey Silveira
I serve as the Building Manager for the Energy Technologies Area (ETA). This Area consists of three divisions of scientific research:Building & Industrial Energy Systems Energy AnalysisEnergy Technology SystemsIn my role I serve as liaison between building occupants, facilities staff and protective services as needed and advise building occupants on how to obtain Operations services needed to support their scientific research. I stay current on conditions of ETA’s buildings; address issues as they arise and oversee day to day operations and management of ETA buildings - 51M, 60, 63, 70, 71T, 75C, 90, 90C, 90P, 90X. I also manage Building 70\'s gas cylinder storage and liquid Nitrogen fill stations.I serve as key authorizer for ETA and Site Access Manager (SAM) for ETA buildings and phone coordinator for ETA personnel. I also manage ETA’s Building Emergency Plans and Business Continuity plans. I work closely with Security and Emergency Management and the Office of Institutional Assurance and Integrity to develop critical function and equipment analysis for the Business Continuity Plan for ETA.I have also served as the Safety Lead for the entrepreneurial/startup Cyclotron Road Division of the Berkeley Lab Directorate. I ensured that the day-to-day work activities in assigned technical work areas were conducted safely and within established work authorizations. I established that chemical inventories were entered into the Chemical Management System and that hazardous materials used in laboratory areas were properly stored and/or safely removed. I created Subcontractor Job Hazard Analysis contracts for outside agencies and vendors wishing to conduct installations and on the job training sessions with our researchers.
