Before leaving my job as a university professor for the Army, nearly six years ago, I had already built a base of experience in management, sales, university training, curriculum development, marketing and recruitment. It was my experience as an intelligence officer, and program manager, that honed all of those experiences into competencies that I want to leverage to help your company grow and succeed.Leadership: It’s about people. Putting them in the right places, with the right tools to succeed. My first experience learning to lead was as the youngest store manager at a company. It came with unique challenges that required emotional intelligence and humility. Business Management: My time as an Intelligence Officer doubling as program manager in the US Army taught me to rapidly identify process inefficiencies and eliminate them. In the Army, such improvements result in lowered manhours and higher morale leading to higher retention. In the civilian sector it results in money saved and margins widened.Marketing & Sales: As a professional musician, I spent a considerable amount of time growing my own personal studio. Starting with zero clients (meaning zero dollars), I grew a 50 person client (at $50/hr) in less than 90 days. Strategic Outreach: Recruitment has been a constant throughout all of my professional experiences. First it was as a musician recruiting to my private or university studio. Later, it was targeted relationship building at the direction of executive leadership. To date, I have supervised, resourced and advertised over 40 events across seven organization consisting of 300-500 employees.Training and Development: At heart, I’m an educator. In addition to the countless hours I have spent training musicians, I have trained teams in the civilian sector on everything from customer service to sales. The Army refined those abilities and gave me a forum in which to test them. If there is a singular passion I have, it would be the ability to get into a room with a decision-maker and help them improve the quality of those decisions through the generation of creative solutions.
