ABOUT JOEL COOPER
Joel is an Associate at BCG and graduate in BSc Economics from the University of Warwick, having specialised in public policy, behavioural economics & climate change. Whilst at university Joel held roles within the Warwick Economics Society, Warwick Consulting Society and also in founding the UK’s first LGBTQ+ Careers Society, Warwick PLAN. This included the establishment of the Warwick Future Economist competition in partnership with the Department for Economics, an essay writing competition for 16- to 18-year-old state school students across the UK. For his extracurricular work, Joel was one of ten recipients of the Warwick Outstanding Student Contribution Award for the 2023 graduating cohort, for contributions to the LGBTQ+ community at Warwick. Since leaving university, Joel has gone on to help establish LGBTQ+ Careers Societies in an additional five universities across the UK through the creation of PLAN UK, and has most recently coordinated the Student Pride Awards for the National Student Pride 2024 annual weekend festival. Joel is also a professionally qualified sailor, and completed his first Transatlantic sail in December 2023. He is also an avid musical theatre fan and Norwich City FC supporter.
