As Director of Workforce Development and Grants, I support the Superintendent to help lead, shape, and guide the district\'s grants and grant funded initiatives. As Director, I have oversight for the Career Technical Incentive Grant (CTEIG), the K12 Strong Workforce Program Grant (K12 SWP) and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant. I participate in the Golden State Pathways Program, K-14 Bay Area Community College Consortium the Dual Enrollment Committee, the statewide Alternative Education Legislative Advisory Committee, and serve as one of the selection committee members for the K12 SWP to increase knowledge and direction of CTE grants. Additionally, I serve as the ACSA Region 8 CTE State Council representative, providing K12 voice and feedback to state legislative initiatives. In my position, I work with workforce development boards, non profits and industry partners to increase employer engagement leading to greater student work based learning opportunities across the WBL continuum, including guest speakers, industry sector events, job shadowing, pre-apprenticeships and internships.I provide assistance to MetroED school sites and principals related to development, preparation, management and evaluation of program grants, in alignment with the districts strategic plan. Additionally, I oversee the planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting required in all California Department of Education State Funding Projects.
