ABOUT JOEL KRENTZ

I am an educator interested in social justice, technology\'s role in education, and centring Indigenous perspectives in student learning. As a Teacher Librarian, I fostered a passion for reading and challenge students to think critically. I engaged growing minds through the use of digital technologies for playing, exploring, creating and sharing. I collaborated with teachers and students to develop inquiry skills and facilitate innovative thinking. These partnerships included work on collaborative inquiries and research, coding and programming, digital citizenship, digital storytelling, social justice, and STEM related inquiries. Some of the many technology tools used to support student learning include Google Apps (G-Suite), Scratch (with LEGO Wedo and Makey Makey), iPads and their numerous apps, as well as movie making applications, stop motion animation software, and green screen technology.
