Joel P. Yuhas, FACHE, was appointed executive vice president, UPMC, and president of UPMC\'s Health Services Division in March 2023. In this role, Mr. Yuhas is responsible for UPMC\'s clinical enterprise including the direct oversight of 42 academic, community and specialty hospitals across the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland and New York; and UPMC\'s Division of Community and Ambulatory Services.Joel had worked in various leadership roles at UPMC for eight years through 2014. He was named senior vice president of operations for UPMC’s International Division after having served as president of UPMC Horizon and Northwest hospitals.Most recently, before being recruited back to UPMC, he served as regional chief executive officer of UCHealth Southern Colorado and president, UCHealth Memorial Health System in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Before that, he was the president and CEO of St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, Calif, part of CommonSpirit Health. He has more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, including CEO positions within major hospital systems and experience in both community and academic hospitals. Joel received his undergraduate degree from Cleveland State University in 1993 and earned his Master of Healthcare Administration in 1996.
