UIUC REU projects:=> Quantum Repeater Photonics: Optimized SiC waveguides’ chip-to-fiber coupling efficiency using inverse taper design—simulated dimensions using FDTD from Ansys MODE and Tidy3D.=> Spin Defect Microscopy: Worked on optical [excitation and collection] path collimation and setting up FSM & SNSPD (Quantum Opus) to optically address SiC VV0 vacancy centers in free space.=> Cleanroom Experience: Fabricated aforementioned waveguide using ICP-RIE (Oxford Instruments), with Al (mask) metal deposition and photolithography.=> Material Characterization: Evaluate sample integrity and topographic irregularities using AFM (and Gwyddion image processing software) to ensure high optical propagation. Supervisor: Dr. Chris Anderson Overall Program:=> CQE: Workshop on Qiskit SDK, IBM Quantum Platform, Transpilation, and Quantum Error Correction during IBM site visit.=> ISRAP: Soldering and MATLAB workshops.
