Currently completing an Optometry Residency at the South Texas VA with a focus on managing complex ocular diseases and neuro-visual conditions resulting from traumatic and acquired brain injuries. My responsibilities include diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of anterior and posterior segment pathologies, co-managing systemic conditions with ocular manifestations (e.g, diabetes, glaucoma, hypertension, autoimmune disease), and working closely with interdisciplinary teams in the Polytrauma and Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program. This residency also trains me in low vision care, and specialty contact lenses including scleral fittings. I provide comprehensive eye care to a diverse veteran population, and work closely with interdisciplinary teams to manage complex cases.
