About Joel Cheatham-Sam

I have worked in the Additive Manufacturing industry (with emphasis on metal laser powder bed fusion) for over 7 years, and I am passionate about helping mechanical designers and component manufacturers actualize the benefits of industrial 3D printing. At EOS, I educate prospective customers about advanced additive processes and explore new markets and applications for our technology. Previously, as a Materials and Process Engineer, I applied my skills in data management, materials science, and web application development to deliver custom metal parts using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). I worked with customers and additive industry experts from Stratasys and Cumberland Additive, two leading companies in the 3D printing sector. I have an M.S. in Materials Science and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, where I conducted cutting-edge research on LPBF of NiTi shape memory alloys and fatigue of high-temperature shape memory alloys. I have also completed multiple certifications in Python, data science, and data visualization, which enabled me to automate and optimize the data and file management, and to create a web-based app for tracking material inventory, powder traceability, build tracking, quoting tools, and production status dashboards. My goal is to leverage my domain expertise and passion for 3D printing and materials science to solve complex engineering problems and create innovative solutions.
