About Joel Byam

As a passionate learner, I\'ve earned my Bachelors in Electronic Engineering along with multiple industry recognized network certifications. Using the skills I\'ve learned, I have applied them as a Network Systems Engineer providing technical support and consultation to clients ranging from Small Office/Home Office environments to Multi-User Multi-Tenant environments. I specialize primarily in Wireless networking, Network Infrastructure (LAN/WAN) and Network Security with experience in back-up and disaster recovery strategies. I take pride in spreading knowledge and informing those around me about emerging technologies and existing practices to improve their understanding of an ever changing world. With that drive, I have worked in various fields in the IT and sales industry ranging from consumer electronics sales and repair to network engineering in a pre-sales design role.As a Pre-sales Systems Engineer, my role involved engaging potential clients to solve network related problems by improving the performance of an existing network or performing design plans for a full network overhaul. Taking a holistic, multi-vendor approach to design has given me insight into multiple network vendors and their technologies. In an ever changing world where inter-operation is key, I\'ve found much success in learning key technologies across multiple vendors. This also allowed me to engage and build relationships with multiple channel managers with various partners in the field. Along with design and development of network deployment tracks, I have supported inside sales representatives as their in-house technical resource during client engagements to aid in qualifying potential opportunities and closing business to positively impact revenue.
