In the summer of 2023 I decided to expand my career foot print by leveraging a decade of professional experience in a new capacity as an Adjunct Professor for IST 659, a Graduate level course focused on database development and administration. Translating and aligning my professional experience into an academic setting for a diverse group of students is a unique means of nurturing my continued learning which re-cementing the critical components of proper information system development. This opportunity to reenter higher education as an Adjunct Professor has been rewarding and challenging, and has allowed me to come full circle with my alma mater.Some topics of emphasis in IST 659- Conceptual Data Modeling- Logical Data Modeling- Database and table creation scripting- Structured Query Language (SQL)- a wide variety of lessons surrounding querying a database, creating functions, triggers, views and stored procedures- Database Application Theory and Development- Indexing and Performance Tuning - Data Normalization
