About Joe Blount
After many years of doing IO path C/C++, mostly on high availability storage array controllers running VxWorks or Linux, I was bored and looking to get out of my comfort zone.Coming to InfluxData, my storage background is useful (especially my work with Log Structured Merge). But other than LSM, everything is different.Now I\'m writing golang and flux while playing with Kafka in a CI/CD environment deployed with ArgoCD running on AWS, GCP, and Azure clouds in Kubernetes, configured by yaml, libsonnet, and jsonnet. When I started at InfluxData, I had barely heard of some of these, and had experience with none of them. Work is new and exciting again!
