ABOUT JOE YARAMA
Safety professional with years of unique high risk safety experience. I started in general industry as an emergency responder specializing in fire fighting and high angle rope rescue with international IFSAC and Proboard certifications. Emergency response lead to oilfield site safety positions before I started my own safety consultancy and worked almost exclusively for CNOOC (Chinese offshore oil company) in Canada. I left Oil and gas for a split safety/emergency response position with Canfor Pulp and paper. At Canfor, i was promoted from safety advisor, to safety coordinator, then safety supervisor and finally the manager of health, safety and emergency response for all of Canfor Pulp in a 5 year period. In Oct 2024, I took a position of Senior manager of safety for Canfor\'s US sawmill division. I moved my family from Prince George, British Columbia to Mobile Alabama and began learning both sawmilling and OSHA. Along with a strong understanding of emergency response, I have a certificate of OH & S from the University of Northern British Columbia. I also have certification for process safety management, understanding of ISO 45001 - OHS and - Risk management and of the aviation safety management system.
