WORK HISTORY
Procurement Manager @Compound Semiconductor Applications Csa Catapult
Procurement Transformation Lead - heading a new branch of the Legal and Compliance team focussed solely on the creation of the new Procurement function and embedding it across the organisation. My aim is to provide scientists and engineers with the innovative equipment and tools they need to \"Catapult\" new industries and businesses forward. My first task was to create new procurement guidance, policies, processes and document templates and explain them to my customers via presentations, to ensure that all engagement with suppliers is compliant. I implemented the use of a new eProcurement Portal to engage with the market in a transparent and auditable manner. I engage with my customers to explain our joint responsibilities and encourage early engagement in the procurement process! I also provide tailored one-to-one guidance to explain the procurement roles and responsibilities to those who might be unfamiliar with my universe!I have recently implemented a new Goods Receipting process, to ensure that we only pay invoices for goods or services we have received. I also monitor all expenditure across the office, with my personal approval authority for any purchases over £20k.Along the way, I\'ve become a bit of a nerd regarding supplier spend and the Procurement Act 2023. I even have the certificate from the Government Commercial College to prove it! I\'ve compiled an 8 page guide to the Procurement Act 2023 which I have shared with all my Catapult Procurement peers!I am now expanding my knowledge of Net Zero, sustainable procurement and \"outcome\" based purchasing, to ensure there is a plan to cover the procurement lifecycle whenever new equipment is procured. This all helps me to procure the essential equipment that my colleagues need to make CSA Catapult a great place to work!
