About Joe White
2024- Honored as one of the Top-100 Rising Stars in Men\'s Basketball 2023- Honored as a Top-75 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistant Coach 2022- Honored as one of the Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants 2020- Honored as a Top-50 Most Impactful Low-Major Assistant Coach by Silver Waves MediaCurrently in my 12th year of coaching college basketball. I\'ve been an assistant, an associate head coach, and a head coach at the college level. The 2024-25 season was one of the best ISU has had in the last 20 years, finishing 4th in conference, just like our 2020-21 team. This year was highlighted by Dylan Darling earning Big Sky MVP and Newcomer of the Year. Evan Otten received Freshman of the Year. Jake O\'Neil received All-Defensive team and Honorable Mention All-Conference. As a team we were #1 in offensive rebounding in the conference and top 10 in the country. Promoted to associate head coach in 2023. From 20••••23, I have been at Idaho State as an assistant. 2020\'s 4th place finish was one of the best in the previous 15 years. While at ISU, we have had several all-conference players, have seen a major increase in team gpa, had a team finish with the best defense in the conference, the top defensive rebounding team in the conference and a team finish as the top offensive rebounding team in the conference. During the 2021-22 season, I was appointed acting head coach for a short time and helped lead our team to our first NCAA D1 victory. Prior to ISU, I was at Lane Community College for two years. Year 1 as an assistant, and year 2 as the head coach. During the 2018-19 season, I was the head coach. That year, the Titans won the first region title in 20 years, first Final Four appearance in 20 years, and I recruited and developed the Southern Region POY. The 2017-18 season, I was the assistant coach at Lane CC. That season was highlighted by Kylor Kelley, who went on to play at Oregon State University, and then in the NBA. From 2014-17, I was the assistant coach at Tacoma Community College. By year three we put together a team that advanced to the NWAC championship, had multiple all-region players, and had the DPOY, Ravion Bell. My duties at Idaho State consist of Defensive Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, Player Development, Creating and Presenting Scouting Reports, Game Scheduling, Admissions, Housing, Fundraising, and Post Game Interviews. I played professionally in Guayaquil, Ecuador for Club La Salle. I played collegiate basketball at Southern Oregon University from 20••••12. I was a three-year captain for the SOU Raiders.
