ABOUT JOE WALLACE
I specialise in mixing sound content for audio and video content including live television and radio. I also have experience in audio engineering for OB’s, podcasts, and other digital projects. My main role is currently mixing audio for BBC News’ television output on multiple platforms and networks. Recently I have begun directing the live output of BBC News bulletins around the world and to the UK. I also work as a Technical Coordinator where I operate robotic studio cameras and lighting rigs for BBC Arabic and BBC Persian.Previous to my time in television I worked as a sound engineer with the ABC (Radio National) in Sydney panel operating, engineering/mixing OB’s, and mixing its many popular podcasts. I have also worked with the radio department of BBC News for many years as a Studio Director on its World Service and Radio 4 output. I have worked in university radio, community radio, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander media, public broadcasting, and commercial global radio. My experiences in the different worlds of radio have presented technical challenges that have strengthened my ability to work under pressure. As a Wiradjuri man I always ensure that the perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are presented fairly in all projects I work on. Interested in connecting with past, present, and future work colleagues.
