ABOUT JOE HERMAN

I have 6 years experience as an acoustic engineer, however, I have a total of 19 years experience working on development teams for consumer and professional audio products at Bose Corporation. This includes working closely with mechanical/electrical/DSP engineers, product management and marketing/sales teams, and interfacing with manufacturing and quality groups.In my acoustic engineering role, I spent 6 years working on product development teams. My duties included developing, modeling and building loudspeaker prototypes, acoustic measurements, power and thermal testing, EQ development and DSP settings, demos for management and dealers, and general lab improvements/equipment orders.My favorite projects to work on so far have been the products marketed to musicians. This is where my professional work and personal interests intersect. As a musician, I love researching, buying, and playing with new products, so I know what I\'d be looking for in the products I help develop.I feel lucky to have been the acoustic lead for the Bose S1 Pro, as well as support other projects such as the L1 and F1 product lines.I enjoy spending my free time with my family and playing music, specifically bass and synthesizers.I also like to keep myself busy with projects and learning new skills. woodworking, home improvement/repair, audio production, modifying musical instruments/equipment, courses via LinkedIn Learning, and more.Moving forward, I\'d like to continue working on the development of interesting/fun products.
