About Joe Vitale

Joe Vitale is a Principal at Ramboll and has over 25 years of experience in strategic planning and environmental engineering, with particular focus on ports and harbors development for the offshore wind energy (OSW) industry as well as re-purposing historic industrial properties to more productive use. Working directly with both private and public sector clients and counsel, Mr. Vitale develops appropriate and high-value closure and property re-purposing strategies based on risk tolerance, potential future value of the asset, budget, and project schedule. Over the past 25 years, Mr. Vitale has:• Co-authored MassCEC’s Volume II: Ports and Harbors Study evaluating the re-purposing of underutilized 18 ports and Harbors in the Commonwealth for the Offshore Wind Supply Chain;• Evaluated various wharf improvement options and associated costs for these improvements for OSW foundation and transition piece fabricators and manufacturers;• Developed wharf and property improvement concepts and associated costs for these improvements for OSW cable manufacturers;• Assessed underutilized ports and harbors located in the Northeastern US to be potentially re-purposed for the OSW industry for wind developers; and• Successfully closed out over 50 historic industrial properties in the Northeastern US under various state and federal environmental programs and returned these properties to productive use.Skills: Strategic planning, pro forma cost analysis, ports and harbors improvement analysis for OSW, environmental remediation.
