ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Oversight of all vehicle program activities for the MTA transition, operations, and maintenance of zero-emission fleet (ZEF) vehicles, heavy, light, and high-speed rail programs. •Provide support to the client as a technical subject matter expert for rail, ZEF program initiatives, and emerging technologies. •Provide in-depth analysis reporting, including procedural improvement recommendations, workforce safety and stakeholder presentations. •Oversight of NYC Department of Buses ZEF transition ensuring projects are accomplished efficiently, effectively and within the established timelines; evaluate issues and recommend corrective actions. •Oversight of NYCT, LIRR rail projects, MNR Locomotive projects and associated vendors ensuring all are accomplished efficiently, effectively and within the established timelines; evaluate and recommend corrective actions. •Monitor and evaluate day-to-day rail and ZEF project activities based on daily meetings with NYC Department of Buses, New York City Department of Transportation and Metro North Railroad. •Monitor project schedules, costs, and contingencies. •Monitor and report project risks and recommend appropriate mitigation actions. Communicate tradeoffs between scope, quality, time, and cost to stakeholders. •Evaluate and comment on vehicle functionality and performance during operational, preliminary and acceptance testing of electrical, mechanical systems including associated equipment and hardware for Standard, Diesel, Hybrid, Battery Electric Buses (BEB)and rail and locomotive vehicles.
