ReliabilityFirst (RF) is one of six regional organizations which, in conjunction with NERC, are responsible for ensuring the reliability of the North American high-voltage electric system. Under the authority of FERC, RF audits utility companies within the Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic regions on their adherence to mandatory operational, maintenance, and planning requirements.Responsibilities include the performance of inherent risk assessments of utility companies to focus upcoming audit engagements; analyzing instances of non-compliance to determine the potential risk that was posed to the bulk electric system as well as approving/validating associated mitigation activities; and participation in various reliability-focused industry working groups/tasks forces.

Specifically, our company is responsible for the reliability and security of the electric grid in the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes areas of the United States, which includes all or portions of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, and the District of Columbia.
