About Joe Pew
I always wanted to tell stories. I loved the idea of developing characters, plots, and themes, but I was never a wordsmith. What I found I could do was create and reinforce stories and express a point of view through design. I discovered a passion in creating worlds that enhance and support the story visually. My career in design/art direction has spanned over 25 years and has included live events, television and feature films. MY training is in Live Theatre and my early career was a bit of a jack of all trades doing a bit of everything from construction and scenic work to designing when I could. Since then I moved more into television and film work where I have been a member of the Art Directors Guild for close to 20 years. I have been fortunate enough to include teaching to my resume. While starting small as an Adjunct Professor at FIDM I was helping prepare the next generation of Designers and Art Directors.
