ABOUT JOE PARR
Joe Parr is a Chicago based industrial designer who works with industry partners to develop products in furniture, lighting, consumer goods, and technology. His practice pursues meaningful difference in its designs using a uniquely thoughtful approach. He helps clients distill complex problems using a holistic perspective that leads to insightful, purposeful solutions. Inspired by his interest in psychology, his process is informed by intimate observations of the human condition and culture. He combines this with technical expertise and hands-on experimentation to work closely with engineering to deliver new innovations. Everything he designs serves to create balance between product, client, and consumer to deliver the most beautiful, lasting experience.Before starting his practice, he worked in the design studios of Herman Miller and Steelcase. He later earned his MFA in Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art, receiving the Florence Knoll Merit Award for his work. Since defining his practice in 2020, he was featured in Wallpaper* Magazine as an emerging ‘Next Generation’ designer. He also teaches design as an adjunct professor at Kendall College of Art and Design.joeparrdesign.com
