Senior Vice President Joe Ohayon is responsible for coordinating the development of a company strategy and position on emerging and anticipated state and local public policy issues that the affect the company businesses. Also oversee mortgage outreach initiatives with national and local housing and credit counseling agencies to promote homeownership education and home preservation efforts and stimulate growth and stability in distressed areas.A 23-year veteran of the mortgage servicing business, Ohayon joined Wells Fargo in 2006 as head of Community Outreach for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage where he led home preservation programs to assist customers and communities impacted by foreclosures and other challenges during the housing crisis. Under Ohayon’s leadership, the team led more than 1,600 home preservation events across the U.S, helping homeowners facing financial hardship.Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ohayon was director of Servicing Customers Relations at Freddie Mac for 13 years where he was responsible for the overall servicing relationships with Freddie Mac’s largest and most consequential customers. Throughout his career, Ohayon has served on the boards of several professional and community organizations focused on homeownership education and counseling. He currently serves on the board of HomeFree USA, the Advisory Council of NeighborWorks® Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling, and he is a member of the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling Committee. He previously served on the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Loan Administration Committee. Ohayon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Frostburg State University in Maryland and a Masters of Business Administration from Marymount University in Virginia. He resides with this family in Maryland.
