About Joe Nicholson
Dr. Joe Nicholson is the Chief Medical Officer at CareAllies. There, Dr. Joe provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and thought leadership for CareAllies’ clinical programs and operations, including all value-based arrangements within IPA/CIN or ACO constructs. Additionally, he supports business development and provides clinical oversight for all companies and programs under CareAllies, including models of care rolled out by CMS, like MSSP. Dr. Nicholson has held leadership roles at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) of Oklahoma, a subsidiary of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), and was instrumental in helping to establish Oklahoma’s health information exchange, partnering with the state of Oklahoma and Oklahoma University.He earned his medical degree at Oklahoma State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Oklahoma University College of Medicine – Tulsa. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
