ABOUT JOE MOGLIA

Joe Moglia is the former head football coach and chairman emeritus of athletics at Coastal Carolina University, and the current chairman of FG New America. He is also the former CEO and chairman of the board at TD Ameritrade. He was named as a Coach on the 20••••19 Big South Football All-Decade Team, has received multiple Coach of the Year honors-including the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Award and the Vince Lombardi Award-and was inducted into the Vince Lombardi Hall of Fame. In his last 10 seasons of coaching college football, Joe has been part of eight championship teams. In all five years at Coastal, he led his team to national playoffs, as well as four conference championships.* Joe began his career as a coach for 16 years, moved to the business world for over 20, and returned to coaching in 2009. In the business world, he was at Merrill Lynch for 17 years before becoming the CEO at TD Ameritrade in 2001. By 2008, the firm had six record years in a row, grew its market cap from $700 million to $10 billion, and shareholders enjoyed a 500% financial return. Then, Joe stepped down as CEO and became chairman of the board. Today, TD Ameritrade has client assets in excess of $1.3 trillion. Joe has received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and the Sharp Trophy for Leadership. He has been honored by the National Italian American Foundation, the Columbus Citizens Foundation, the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame, and the American Institute for Stuttering. He has also been inducted into 12 Halls of Fame, is the recipient of three honorary doctorates, and is also the only author to have written books published on both investing and football.
