ABOUT JOE ANDERSON

Starting my professional career in the summer of 2014, I joined the Accounts and Business Advisory team at Mazars in Leicester. During my time in this role, I gained experience on many accounting systems and client industries. I was also involved in preparing financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, cash flow forecasts and both corporate and personal tax computations. My initial introduction to the Accountancy profession provided me with a broad skillset and allowed me to consider the bigger picture due to my broad skillset. As well as learning on the job I also completed both the AAT and ACCA accounting qualifications with first time passes. In early 2022, I moved across into the M&A team at Mazars, working across the Midlands, building relationships in Leicester, Nottingham and Birmingham.During my time in the M&A team at Mazars, I developed strong experience within the financial services and healthcare industries and worked closely with clients to understand their M&A objectives and formulated both growth and exit plans. I joined PKF Smith Cooper in 2024, further developing my M&A skills and learning from my colleagues. My role at PKF Smith Cooper is focussed on helping businesses and their owners navigate transaction processes whilst aiding strategic decision making. I support clients through the full deal lifecycle, delivering clear financial insight and strategic guidance. My work includes leading buy‑side and sell‑side transactions, building and reviewing financial data packs and models, preparing valuations and preparing Information Memorandums.I collaborate closely with clients, investors and advisors to ensure smooth execution while contributing to business development and mentoring junior colleagues.
