About Joe Kowalkowski
I have been in the automation and controls world since 1995. My career started going through an Industrial Electrician apprenticeship. This has had a lasting effect on my design and implementation philosophies; keep designs simple and effective. Such that others can follow your design and effectively maintain and troubleshoot the system. In the last 10 years, I have focused solely on large drive applications (primarily sales application engineering and direct-to-client-sales) as well as interfacing with utilities to connect large loads to their distribution networks. This has been very challenging and rewarding work. Understanding large drive systems, including Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and their associated topologies, gives unique insight to the correct application of these technologies. The way in which torque is applied to the load is key to understanding and creating a value proposition for our customers. Insight and foresight are the benefits of 25 years, and counting, of experience in this industrial space.
