Laboratory based role involving the operation of different x-ray fluorescent spectrometers, their programmes, and their verification/calibration processes under ISO17025 and other UKAS accredited methods. These techniques are used on precious metals to quantify which metals are in the sample and how much of each there are, allowing for various precious metal articles to be assessed and recorded for hallmarking purposes. Non-hallmarking related requests often involve database management and report writing, including working with trading standards to verify and answer legal questions about articles from different sectors of the industry.

ABOUT JOE JENKINSON
I am an organised, enthusiastic, and practical person who works well in teams and on my own. I have experience with the public, therefore I am comfortable answering questions, maintaining interest, and communicating key concepts. Learning and teaching within a working environment is important to me, I always aim to expand my knowledge and experiences while also expanding other people\'s knowledge and experience too. I have undertaken a variety of animal based work that has taken great physical and mental effort and have been fully capable of carrying it out under difficult circumstances. I can adapt to challenges while not being hesitant to ask for help if I need it, making me an overall reliable member of an ecology or conservation team. I am a member of the Royal Society of Biology (AMRSB), Royal Entomological Society (Mem.RES), and the British Ecological Society (Student).
