ABOUT JOE HENDERSON-JONES

As the founder of Hendersons Health & Safety, I bring over 20 years of leadership experience from the police service to provide top-tier health and safety consultancy across various sectors. I am passionate about creating safe and healthy work environments, with a vision to positively impact the well-being and performance of workers and organisations. I have gained substantial industry experience in Health & Safety management system reviews, audits, and implementation over the past 2 years. My work has spanned across the country, serving clients from various industries, including construction, facilities management, and hospitality. I have conducted many health and safety inspections, written detailed reports, and created and monitored action plans to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Additionally, I have developed a Management Information dashboard that identifies patterns and trends in risk and hazard management, providing valuable insights for strategic and senior management. This dashboard also serves as an excellent performance management tool. My approach to health and safety, prioritises support and education over enforcement. I believe that empowering individuals with knowledge and resources leads to more sustainable and effective safety practices. However, I also recognise that timely enforcement is sometimes necessary to ensure compliance and protect everyone involved. My commitment to these principles reflects my dedication to creating safe and healthy environments through proactive and collaborative efforts. My background includes strategic leadership and management across various police departments, overseeing numerous operations and projects. I have developed significant transferable skills in managing internal policies, public-facing service delivery, and reputation management.
