ABOUT JOE GUARISCO

I have deep experience in managing paramedic supported medical services and have led topside medical and telehealth clinical support for drilling and production operations in the Gulf of Mexico for the oil and gas industry for 30 years. I began offshore medical work in1980 with Medic Systems based in Lafayette Louisiana followed by topside support for both Beason Medical Systems headquartered.in Anchorage Alaska and International SOS in Houston Texas. Most recently, I\'ve worked collaboratively to provide these services working together with Prime Occupational Medicine and International SOS in Baton Rouge Louisiana. The topside support with Prime Occ Health now extends beyond traditional offshore oil and gas to include transoceanic shipping and space technology with SpaceX supporting launch recoveries worldwide. I\'ve pioneered clinical workflow redesign through innovative applications of Lean and other key engineering principles to patient flow processes and space design. My demand management and optimization tools facilitating efficient cost-effective patient care have been implemented in a leading scheduling software company based in New York. He has organized and chaired clinical operations workshops in 2013 in Las Vegas and 2014 in New York for the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. My workflow and staffing optimization concepts were presented in Marseille, France and Hamburg, Germany in 2013 and 2014 to DGINA, the German Association for Emergency Medicine, and EuSEM, the European Society for Emergency Medicine.I have extensive experience in informatics pertinent to the design, development and Implementation of emergency information systems and its application to performance analytics and have published and lectured widely on the use of technology and automation in workflow design and process improvement and is well known for his work in understanding and evaluating physician performance in creating a high-reliability data driven clinical operations. Additionally, I\'ve been recognized by Press Ganey for innovative use of analytics and process design in improving patient experience at Ochsner and is the winner of the Press Ganey 2005 National Success Story Award. In 2008, Press Ganey awarded the Ochsner Health System the Compass Award for the largest improvement in patient experience amongst its client bases. Twice I\'ve won “Innovator of the Year” awarded by the City of New Orleans and City Business Magazine for his work in Clinical Workflow creating unique workflow processes.
