   Leads User Centered Design team for the Medtronic Surgical operating unit. Team is responsible for industrial design, user interface design, user experience design, human factors engineering, design and user research, and usability analytics of Surgical portfolio products. Team focuses on effective use of system and operational tasks that impact patient and user safety as well as holistic user experiences and user satisfaction. Responsible for direction of brand design strategy to ensure products across portfolio maintain consistent experiences and user interfaces as well as optimization of use steps. Directs human factors strategy to ensure compliance with IEC 62366-1 and ISO 14971 to advise team on safe and effective use and user interfaces, including use-related risk assessments and usability evaluations and summative validations. Development of strategy to align team with business objectives to discover VOX/VOC inputs to prioritize user needs and participate in concept engineering methodologies for distilling usability solutions, and continuation of needs identification during downstream product development. Responsible for management of team managers.
