ABOUT JOE BURNS
Dr Joe Burns is the Chief Musculoskeletal Officer for the Wellstar Health System in Georgia, overseeing orthopedic surgery, hand surgery and podiatry. He is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in comprehensive shoulder surgery. Board Certified in orthopedics, Dr Burns currently practices in North Fulton and Cobb Counties. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), and is active in the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) and Americal Shoulder & Elbow Society (ASES). He has also trained over 60 Sports & Shoulder fellows over his career and is currently an Attending Physician for Wellstar\'s Orthopedic Residency. Dr Burns has also served as a consultant for several medical device companies and has lectured all over North America, South America and Europe. Active in research, Dr. Burns has published several peer-reviewed articles and written several books chapters, presenting at medical conferences each year. He has written a textbook for shoulder surgeons, entitled \"Shoulder Arthroscopy, Third Ed.\"(Wolters Kluwer, 2015).
