About Joe Birney

I started my career as an Electrical Engineering working with cost reduction and factory support of the paging product groups at Motorola. Moved over to the IT support team to act as an interconnect between IT and EE to ensure the needs of the EEs where being meet by the IT groups. During this time I was able to to grow my roles and responsibilities to learn scripting, server support, networking and other various IT functions. I have been able to manage both small and large scale projects, working with business teams to ensure their needs lined up with IT goals, created new processes to make the overall design environment more efficient and meet/beet the cost goals. I have been instrumental in help to drive cost down and efficient up of our environments at the same time keeping focus on our customers. Recently I have moved over to supporting of software development environments in effort to help with collaboration and drive commonality across the software engineers. I have also been promoted to management to lead a team that is developing new solutions that leverage the public cloud.Specialties: C++, C, Java, Perl, Basic, UNIX/Windows Scripting, both Hardware/Software Understanding, CI/CD, DevOPs,
