About Jody Wong
Dr. Jody Wong is an Associate Policy Researcher at RAND. She is a risk, health, and science communication researcher and practitioner. Her research comprises two objectives:(1) to understand social and psychological processes that impact people’s decision-making in uncertain environments;(2) to probe how strategic communication can encourage individuals to make informed decisions and stay committed to them. She applies broad principles and theories ranging from but not limited to Communication and Social Psychology to a variety of risk, health, and environmental issues. She enjoys interdisciplinary work, and conducts other research related to emerging technological risks and their ills, including how people circumvent them. Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and are available in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Risk Analysis, Health Communication, and Communication Quarterly. She employs mixed methods ranging from surveys, experiments, and sentiment analyses, and have extensive experience in univariate analyses, multivariate analyses, structural equation modeling, and computerized textual analyses.
