ABOUT JODY MAZE

I have worked for State Farm for almost 30 years in fire and auto claims, as well as Claims Training. I am always looking to broaden my repertoire of experience and have honed my investigative and project management skills. I strive to learn and grow every day.I graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of science degree in education, have taken classes at a local community college and an on-line course on Design Thinking. I have also gained valuable insight via mentoring and networking, which has only served to broaden my perspective on leadership, challenges in our industry and the skills needed to succeed in the future.This daily growth has helped me to accept uncertainty, increase my flexibility and appreciate opportunity. I was on the board of the Chicago Northwest Suburban CPCU Chapter and quickly moved into a leadership position attending two national conferments as the chapter President. I have also been the lead trainer for new claim representatives on three separate occasions. This experience reinforced the need to remain adaptable and flexible, both personally and professionally, while sharpening my teaching skills with a sense of humor.My learning mindset, along with my varied experiences, has refined my desire to have meaning in all that I do. I was able to change the structure of my CPCU board to allow for greater involvement by a larger portion of our leaders, making their experience more valuable for not only themselves, but also our chapter. Over the years, many of my trainees have been promoted, giving me an incredible sense of pride in their accomplishments. I am on a journey, seeking new skills and new experiences, which will allow me to positively impact not only myself, but everyone I come into contact with both personally and professionally.
