We have shown that when struggling members of our community are given access to resources to start their own business, to find the door to a high wage opportunity, and belong to a social network to support their journey, good things happen. Uniquely armed with community health workers and guided by priorities set from local health equity action teams, we work to build wealth and community trust. We aim to build resilient systems, increase access to opportunity, and empower historically disenfranchised communities to enhance overall quality of life,encourage economic growth, and create healthier thriving people and places!This building off our the foundations created with KUMC’s Community Organized to Build Health Equity merged with the successful efforts of The Healthy Bourbon County Action Team’s Center for Economic Growth—to sustain the efforts in Bourbon, Crawford, Cherokee, Labette, and Montgomery Counties!
