About Jodie Kavanah
Jodie Kavanah (Weber) started riding at a young age in the backyard of her parent’s small 2-acre farm in southern New Jersey. Not having the financial support, she learned to ride tough, green, troubled, and inexperienced horses and ponies. Jodie and her parents cared for, prepared, and trained out of the small farm while meeting trainers at shows and traveling for lessons. As a junior rider, she took a \"too slow for the track\" Thoroughbred from a green broke 4-year-old to AHSA (USEF) National Reserve Champion in the Small Junior Hunters, and placed at the Devon Horse Show as well as other large shows such as Capital Challenge and Pennsylvania National Horse Show, among others. Jodie attended Sweet Briar College where she rode on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) and American National Riding Commission (ANRC) teams. At Sweet Briar, she established a foundation in the American System of Forward Riding, learned to ride the warmblood, taught lessons as a teacher’s assistant and explored other training methods, such as Parelli Natural Horsemanship and dressage. Throughout college, she was sought after to ride challenging horses and worked for various professionals in the industry. After graduation, she spent time working for a large hunter/jumper barn in Virginia and coaching an IHSA team. Knowing she wanted to experience life outside of the horse business, Jodie transitioned into a retail corporate career where she developed her leadership skills. During this time, Jodie hung up her spurs to focus on her career and family. Like many of us, the pandemic brought new challenges and a longtime friend re-introduced Jodie to the horse world. From there, one horse led to the purchase of a farm and the creation of Not Forgotten Farm, LLC.Jodie is now combining her leadership qualities learned in the corporate environment with her many years of experience and education in the horse industry. Jodie’s goal is to help you “Get Better with Horses™” because, no matter what your individual goals are, horses are a lifelong lesson. For more information, please visit https://notforgotten.farm
